PERSONALITY Bit of a know-it-all, sarcastic, sharp-witted and easily annoyed, Kai isn't an easy person to love or like. He has some pricks and some callouses, and some serious bitterness and he doesn't carry it all very well. He doesn't suffer fools and makes very little effort to accommodate strangers. He loves his little family, just three people beside himself, beyond any measure and he would literally kill for them. His moral compass isn't always the straightest and he probably wouldn't care if he'd have to kick strangers under the bus if that meant saving himself or his family. But he's mostly fun to be around. He smiles easily, parties hard when he does, flirts incessantly, has easy sex with anything that moves, never mourns his wife (this is a lie), also lies easily through a smile and doesn't give a shit if you don't believe him. All in all, a shark of a man and completely unapologetic about it.

ABOUT Kai is a freelance journalist in a near future world that has gone so very wrong. He lives in London with his daughter and tries to avoid ending up demon food at some point. APPEARANCE Dark, chopped hair, often unshaved or growing a small goatee, Kai has one of those faces that you look at and think he's good fun. He has a smirk that is pure gold, arrogant and always amused, a little bit of that devilishly handsome look about him. Standing at 179cm, he's not exceptionally tall or exceptionally sturdy. He works out, has pretty, gym-acquired muscles, eats healthy, stays in shape. He likes dress smart but casual. Jean and leather jacket most often than not. Has a few tattoos on his back and a Hannunvaakuna in the inside of his left wrist. The ones on his back are magical and keep him from randomly short-circuiting around magical types. ABILITIES Languages, writing, okay survival skills. He can brawl and shoot a gun better than average, trained a few martial arts styles in his life. He also is sensitive to magical types. He can usually tell when he's dealing with them, easily works as a link, they'll find easy to make their magic work with him or use him as a contact agent. Basically he resonates super easily with magic. He has the devil's luck, which means that there's never really a normal day for him, be it good or bad. He's not your average psychic. He might be if he had ever put any effort into it, but as it is, he tends to be sensitive and intuitive to a point that might seem magical but is actually just good people skills and a lot of guesswork. He sometimes gets visitations and premonitions but those mostly tend to be regarding people he knows well. BACKGROUND Born in 2011 in south-east Finland, but he left with his brother from another mother before the borders were closed and he now lives in London. He was married for a couple of years with a Scottish witch, now he's a single father of a five year old daughter. He still hangs out in the magical circles even if he's not a practising witch himself. Kai spent something of a decade by hunting demons with Grey before settling into London. They were looking for Kai's little brother who went missing during their great escape. He still blames himself for his little brother's probable demise. He was born into a religious family, his father was a preacher and his mother a dormant witch, who spent most of her life fearing the powers she could have wielded. His childhood was marked with rebellious spirit and constant struggle against his father's will, the looming heritage of magical gifts that the church deemed evil. He has a bit of a problem with authorities and father figures in general and he tends to be eager to prove you right if you expect him to be an asshole. His daughter pretty much saved his life by being accidentally born. He was forced to take his life seriously and clean his act. Even if his marriage with his ex ended quite a bit before she passed, he doesn't remember her with ill will. He's come to hate hospitals because of her sickness. He used to make a living by writing daring articles and going on the ground in places that were dangerous and controversial. He made quite a bit of name for himself. He's a sought after freelancer even today as he writes articles that are much more political in fashion rather than news worthy. It's a conscious choice living a safer life for his child. Tilhi, his five year old daughter, is a curious witch child and tends to be adored by the little people much to her father's chagrin. She has his sensitivity and doesn't always make friends by being rather blunt and honest about her observations.

POWERS, EXTENDED THE DEVIL'S OWN LUCK He is lucky, but not always with the best end results. He might end up landing on his feet like a cat, but doing so might break his toes. PSYCHIC ABILITIES A little bit of an empath, reading people effortlessly, it's not so obvious that you would immediately spot him as a psychic, but instead someone with a lot of experience. Sometimes he gets visitations, premonitions, semi-prophetic dreams. He'll hear his friends calling to him when they're in trouble, hears footsteps on the porch when someone is passing, tends to know when he's on a precipice of a fae-circle and so on. He's sensitive and doesn't like it, so he will try to ignore it as much as possible. DORMANT MAGIC As one of the few people who can perform magic, he isn't much anything at all. He has the gift but he's never done anything with it. MAGICAL BATTERY He is incredibly easy to link up with and use his power by an other magic user. Sometimes it happens organically without any consent necessary on his part and because he knows know how it's done, it just happens. There are tattoos on his back that try to prevent this from happening. However, anyone who knows anything about magical tattoo work could tell that the lock written there is much more complicated than what he thinks it is, complicated and out of his own control, the leash of it given to someone else.
